| The Invader saw combat in every
theater of World War II. The Douglas A-26 was
designed as a medium attack bomber replacement
for the B-25s and Martin B-26s of pre
World War II vintage. The B-26B is a three seat,
twin-engined attack aircraft. This variant flew
in Korea. The B-26K variant saw intensive action
as an intruder-close support aircraft in Vietnam,
33 years after it was built. |

| Service variant of the Fireball.
This model has full squadron paint scheme and
warload for CFS2. The aircraft was a mixed power
twin engine radial/jet fighter bomber but came
along as jet only aircraft were finding favour
within the US military. WWII was almost over by
the time it entered service. 100 planes became
operational with the US Navy. They flew
operationaly on board VS-21. |
