Saab Viggen
In 1952 reasearch was funded to design a multi-role
fighter for future military use in Sweden. By 1954, this aircraft was breaking

was the chosen engine to be installed in the new aircraft giving it substatial
thrust for short takeoffs. During the 1960's, it was foreseen that the Swedish

RCS B-25
The North American B-25 was one of the best-known medium
bombers of World War II, especially remembered for its success with the Doolittle
raid on Japan in 1942. Its production continued as it participated in various
European campaigns thereafter. Less known was the fact that hundreds of these
aircraft had post war roles before eventually succumbing to the usual fate of
scrapping and smelting.

Pilatus PC-12
The PC12 is a very efficient aircraft, with a broad
payload capability. Being fast, but with good short field landing performance,
they are ideally suited to the traditional outback role of the RFDS, as well as
all fixed wing air-ambulance work now provided by the Flying Doctor.

MKs2B Blackburn
The Buccaneer was designed to a Royal Navy requirement
for a bomber to fly subsonic, under-the-radar missions to penetrate enemy airspace
without detection. In meeting these needs, the design team managed to produce
an aircraft with an advanced boundary layer control system for improved maximum
lift, an area-rule shaped fuselage for reduced drag, and a large internal fuel
capacity coupled with fuel efficient engines for superb range. The Buccaneer entered
service on the 17th of July, 1962.

F-86 Sabre
In 1944, North American Aviation submitted a design
for a swept-wing day fighter which could also be used as a dive-bomber or escort
fighter. Two prototype XP-86s were contracted in late 1944, but were not built
until after WWII due to the incorporation of several design modifications which
were prompted by German research data. The first XP-86 prototype flew on 1 October
1947, powered by a 3,750-pound thrust G.E. J35 engine.
