Lara - "Grupo Aéreo de Caza Nro. 12" The F-5s were delivered to the Fuerza Aerea Venezolana in two groups between February 11 and June 11, 1972 ,Two new-build CF-116Ds were delivered by Canadair to Venezuela on January 27, 1974. They were assigned CAF serials 116827 and 116828, but were never actually taken into CAF inventory but delivered directly to Venezuela. They were designated VF-5D in FAV service.

A two seat, high wing monoplane with strut bracing that replaced the cartoonish, pylon-braced C series after the 1937 flood. These airplanes were fully enclosed and were equipped with yoke control and side-by-side seating, advanced features in its' class. The K (straight K) still used the 2 cylinder boxer twin engine until recieving its' CofA with the modern, opposed 4 cylinder powerplants coming into vogue in the late '30s. The KC, KCA, KLA and others of the series led directly into the Aeronca Chief aircraft.

Grumman C-1A Trader from USS Lexington CVT-16 circa 1976. The C-1A Trader is a S-2 Tracker variant that was designed as a Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) aircraft to provide passenger, mail and cargo services to deployed carriers. First flown in 1955, the last Trader was retired in 1988. This C-1A (BuNo 136754) entered the Naval Aviation Museum collection from the USS Lexington (CVT-16) in 1976 following completion of its 15,000 service life hours.
