This update has a sound file not included in the orginal upload (XF108.zip). Flight Simulator cargo planes including C-5 Galaxy. Absence of this file can cause FS9 to close when the 108 hits Mach 1.

The XF-108 was designed as a Mach 3 long range interceptor primarily to escort the XB-70 Valkyrie. It got as far as the mockup stage before the project was canceled. This model is based on the mockup configuration and has the usual FS9 animations, transparent canopies, and a specular color shine. The 2D panel and VC are based on a photo of the front panel of the mockup. The sound file is from a tape of a actual GE J-93 engine.

Deadly looking, and just as lethal, the Mil MI-24 series of Helicopter Gunships are perfect Cold War images of the Soviet concept of a "Flying APC" Armed with AT Missles, Rockets and Cannon, and capable of transporting 8 Troops in its cabin. Caused much concern in the West, where there was no counterpart, and given the NATO code-name "Hind" This FS9 model has multiple paint schemes, lots of ani's, VC, some "custom" gauges and working gear.

The paint scheme is taken from one of our Paves that sit here at Hurlburt. I modeled it after aircraft 0369, the "Love Machine." This aircraft has seen action in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq.. you name it. In fact, this bird flew the first mission of Desert Storm back in '91.

The Sikorsky H-34 was developed in 1950's in order to replace the H-19 for the Armed Services. The H-34 had many different roles throughout all the branches of service. Some of them including troop and equipment delivery, aerial mine delivery, medical evacuation and presidential transport just to name a few. The Army's version of the H-34 was called the CH-34A "Choctaw". Flight Simulator cargo planes including C-5 Galaxy.The CH-34A Choctaw saw most of it's combat action during the Vietnam War.
